About Paris

I’m Paris (she/they), a gaming and digital media writer based in the UK.

Over the years, I’ve written about everything from travel to education to mental health, but video games have always been at the centre of my world.

I like to examine what makes games a uniquely powerful interactive art form, particularly how their mechanics, design, and atmosphere shape the way we think and feel.

From 2021 to 2025, I worked as an English teacher in Japan. Creating lesson materials, designing interactive English games, and contributing to a teachers’ newsletter drew me back to writing in a serious way. But I realised it wasn’t the classroom I loved most; it was creating things that make ideas click.

That realisation brought me back to the UK to pursue an MA in Digital Media and Global Communication, where I’ve been developing my skills as a content writer and digital storyteller.

I currently work as Gaming Editor for my university’s newspaper and write content for a range of organisations. In my spare time, I publish long-form essays on Medium about games, film & TV, and my experiences in Japan.

Take a look around and see what I’ve been overthinking lately.
