About Paris

Howdy. I’m Paris, from Norwich, UK. I'm 26, my favourite food is smoked salmon, and I’m a chronic writer.

This portfolio is my little corner of the internet to share the work I’m proud of.

Over the years, I’ve written about all sorts: film and TV, travel, culture, fashion, and education, but my first love has always been video games. I like to look beyond the headlines and dive into the craft of games, exploring how developers use their unique medium to reflect the human experience, as all good art should.

From 2021 to 2025, I worked as an English teacher in Japan, which drew me back into writing as I was creating lesson materials every day and contributing to a newsletter for other teachers.

At some point, I realised it wasn’t really the classroom side of things I loved most, it was the creating. I loved finding inventive ways to make concepts click with my audiences, whether that meant building interactive games, designing digital resources, or writing engaging articles.

Somewhere along the way, the creative work stopped feeling like just part of the job and started feeling like the thing I wanted to do with my life.

That's what brought me back to the UK to start a master's in Digital Media and Global Communication, where I've been developing my skills as a digital storyteller and content writer.

Now I split my time between my studies, working as the Gaming Editor for my university’s newspaper, writing content for various charity organisations, and, in my (increasingly precious) free time, publishing long essays on Medium.

Take a look around and see what I've been overthinking lately.
